David Movilla (Getxo, 1980) will be the coach of the players selected for the fifth edition of the professional Tryouts of FutbolJobs that will be directed by Luis Vicente Mateo from January 7 to 14 at El Albir Garden Resort. Movilla is a coach with extensive experience in professional soccer, having coached teams in Segunda B and Primera RFEF. In the last season, in the 2023-24 season, Movilla promoted Zamora CF to Primera RFEF, after reaching the third position in his group. He reached his peak with the Zamora team in 2021, even playing in the playoff for promotion to the Second Division. He has also coached teams such as Real Unión de Irún; Barakaldo, with whom he also played in the promotion phase to Second Division and the Copa del Rey against Valencia CF; or Leioa, where he spent eight seasons and promoted them from the regional category to Second Division B. His beginnings as a coach were in Arenas de Getxo and in his time as a player he played several seasons in Athletic Club.

-What do you expect from these Tryouts in El Albir?

-I hope it will be a comforting experience for all the staff members we are going to meet. And also for all the players who surely come with the illusion of living a professional week where we enjoy, learn from each other and compete and perform at our best level.

-Had you had any similar experience in your career?

-No. A few years ago I had a team from Getxo to prepare for a match against Athletic Bilbao. We only had a couple of days and we managed to get together quite well and overcome the difference in category competing against a First Division team. We will try to take advantage of that experience… Although everything has different connotations and to contribute and optimize all the minutes we spend there.

-What have you been told about the boys who will be coming to the Tryouts?

-I know what Luis Vicente Mateo has told me. I know who they are, their origin, nationality, age… and above all there is one thing that characterizes all the profiles, which is the illusion and ambition to take advantage of this week to relaunch their careers. This is what unites them all and this is what we are going to try to promote.

-Do you think the scouts who will be in El Albir will find players to sign?

-That is the idea, that it will help these players to develop themselves, to be placed in sports projects they like and we will try to work well as a team because when a team works as a team, its players are strengthened. From there we are going to try to focus on it and see if they have the chance to have good matches to be placed in good teams.

-Players come from all over the world. How will you channel the training in this sense?

-We will try to ensure rapid adaptation and integration. Not only in the field work, but we will also try to create the necessary bonds and trust in the teams. And then on the field we will try to simplify a lot so that the players seek to develop their best abilities. Through the visualization of their characteristics, we will try to locate them where they can be strengthened and strengthen their teammates. And look for an offensive and defensive structure that allows them to act naturally in their characteristics and that empowers them individually and collectively.
